Heart of Vilas County Bike Trail - Boulder Junction

Over 52 miles of paved bike trails winding through the Northern Highland-American Legion State Forest, connecting Boulder Junction, Sayner, St. Germain, Manitowish Waters, and Mercer with scenic rest areas and swimming spots along the way. No trail pass required.

Hodag Park

Large park on the shores of Boom Lake in Rhinelander featuring a public beach, boat landing, three baseball diamonds, an amphitheater, tennis court, playground, and pavilions. Home to the Hodag Water Ski Shows and annual Fourth of July fireworks.

Interstate Falls Park

An 18-foot waterfall on the Montreal River along the Wisconsin-Michigan border, accessible via a short 0.3-mile trail with boardwalks, stairs, and two viewing platforms. Popular for brook trout fishing in spring and snowshoeing in winter.

Iron Belle Trailhead

The western trailhead of Michigan's Iron Belle Trail, the longest designated state trail in the nation at 1,273 miles. The local section is a 10-mile paved path running from Depot Park through Hurley to Bessemer.

Isle of Ferns Park
